Research Interests
The expertise of Dr. Tao Xu covers a broad range of surface science methods with a special focus on Infrared Reflection Absorption Spectroscopy (IRAS) and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM). He is also experienced with X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and thin film deposition methods in UHV environments. His research topics in the group include the surface sciences of oxide materials and ionic liquids. His research activities center on the preparation of well-defined model surfaces and the characterization of interface structures & properties by IRAS and STM.
